PT Downgrading - help!
hey there,
I've decided to downgrade from PTLE 7.3 to PTLE 7.1 - purely because I'm still having problems with performance. I have OSX 10.4.9 installed, which I know isnt fully compatible yet, and have installed the combo though still getting problems. So, I'm guna stick 7.1 back on - however! I had the 6.9 version originally, and purchased the upgrade from digidesign, enabling me to go up to 7.1. Now, I dont have the setup file of the upgrade on my comp, so am only able to stay at 6.9. Any ideas? what can I do?

Re: PT Downgrading - help!
HI,
you should rather downgrade to 10.4.8, then. The easiest way. If you still have a legit 7.1 licence, I´d email digi support for installation discs. Or if you downloaded the update there should be an download link in the registration mail you should have received. Or try ebay. 7.1 installation disc sales are quite common it seems. regs

Ok, I'll try that.
do you know how I'd go about downgrading my OSX, do I need to erase and reinstall?

Re: PT Downgrading - help!
HI,
that´s the usual way. it´s only the hard way back. I´d try to keep a sparse/recovery image of my first install, in case something goes wrong. You can use Disk Utility or Carbon Copy Cloner to keep a restore imga at hand. regs

Ah ok...
although, I dont have my OSX install disks - I moved recently and cant find the disks! A mate of mine has exactly the same spec computer though as we bought them at the same time, could I just borrow his disks, or do you have to use the original disks?

Re: PT Downgrading - help!
That should work fine - but do an Archive and Install - that way your apps and a lot of your settings will be saved. Your old system will be all placed in a folder called Previous System. Then run the 10.4.8 Combo updater.
peace
