Default I need some serious help my G4 / 001 in my speaker

I've posted about this before in the past couple of days

and have done some trouble shooting , Im hoping someone with Experience will read this and help me out

as stated in other post my monitors produce thid ringing when my computer turns on

my monitors are connected to an Allen and Heath GS3 . my monitors are Alesis MKII

when the computer is not on no noise is present . when my console is in either of the two , 2track modes

the ring ing is present BUT when I increase the master volume it does not increase like it does

when 2 track mode is not present . To me is seems like a a grounding issue , but I have lifted all grounds

except for my consoles to n avail ( I did this by using 2 ground lifts on my 2 furmans )

this is driving me crazy , I cant use 2 track mode all the time although the music is significantly louder

I cant mix with that annoying ringing , I dont hear it the ringing on my mixdowns , so what is going on

Im about to cry ...... ok now Im crying

HELP ME

it may possibly be radio frequency interference generated from your puter
or monitor,

easy to test for monitor, leave puter on, turn monitor off.

do you still get interference when puter is on, but disconnected from digi
001?

hope this makes some sense,

cheers,

I've done this test with the monitor and the noiise is not coming from it

and the 001 unplugged brings no noise so I guess you can rule out the radio waves huh ?

DIGI TECH SUPPORT ARE YOU THERE ?

Haven't you had this problem before ?

I have a\nother sound card which I took out for trouble shooting sakes and it works fine my G4 works fine

Its' the 001 amplifying my computers internal noise

Hi,

You say you don’t hear the sound in your mixes, do you mix in Pro Tools or through the console. Are you using balanced connections on both cable ends? If not you should start there. If you are you can try lifting the sleeve at the console end this can help in some situations. The only other thing I can think of is a feedback loop. People usually describe ground problems as humming not ringing. You can try disconnecting everything from the input of your 001 to make sure you are not sending the output of your console to the input of the 001 and back again. Try hooking your 001’s out to the 2 track in on your console. If the sound goes away it could be something causing a feedback look in your console’s circuitry. I had a similar small format 4 buss mixer. Sometimes it would start a feedback loop by itself until I would slap it on the side. It turned out to be a bad internal cable.

Thanks,

no not a feed back loop

I disconnected EVERYTHING EXCEPT the 2 track input and the noise is still present

so it is not the console ( I just had this serviced a couple of months ago )

the noise is not feed back but the G4's self noise being sent through the 001

bringing it to my speaker / console . the ringing is similar to the high frequency a tv produces when turned on

with no volume ( no its not my computer screen ) I am sure its the computer noise I just dont know

why or how it is coming through . Is there anything I can do DIGITECHSUPT ?

can I isolated the 001 in the rack ? my other sound cards work fine how can I solve this noise problem ?

THANK YOU FOR THE RESPONSE I AM VERY APPRECIATIVE

Try changing your source of AC. Sometimes there can be interaction between 2 devices either on the same circuit, or on a seperate one. If they are both on the same, try seperating them. If they are currently seperated, put them all on the same circuit. try running power in from another room with an extension cable...of course making sure that they are different circuits. The fact that there is no noise present when your computer is off is what convinces me your problem will be solved if you try this...

Well thanks for the interest but I just tried it in 3 different sockets in 3 different rooms one room in the office
( BTW I was changing the G4 's power socket )

again thanks for the ideas

again right now I have the 001 in the consoles 2 track in

and am getting the noise

that is the ONLY connection to my console besides the monitor out puts to my ra 100 to my alesis MKII

I think it MAY BE my 001 in my racks metal rails onl I dont know how to treat this only know that it can cause

some form of loop

In desperate need of assistance

Are you sure you do not have a mic plugged in.
I had a similar problem a long time ago. I leave my setup permanantly hooked up. I had the mic hooked up and was getting feedback from the monitors even though I had no tracks record enabled.
