Question I have a question on PTS 9 Update
I have purchased a PTS 9 crossgrade box version.

When I have activated my PTS 9, the page shows me the following:

1. Pro Tools 9.0 Full Installer (Windows 7) 4210.78 MB Download

2. Pro Tools 9.0 Updater (Windows 7) Previous Installation of Pro Tools Required 1239.09 MB Download ›

Is 2 an update which we need to download and update from the Box version?

The updater is if you already have an old version of protools installed on your computer. You are better off not doing that. You should uninstall any old version, then use the full install version to install everything.

So if I buy the crossgrade update, for PT8 to PT9 online for download.
Can I download the full version of PT9?

It would be nice to have the full version!

Yes, if you buy the download version, you have the option to download the full installer.

I might add that its a good idea to download both installers, Store them 5-6 different places and burn them to DVD which should cut way down on the "I Can't Find My Download Links" , "Cannot Log Into My Avid account", " Ahhhhh! What to do!??? The Avid Store is down for maintenance and I need my download NOW" threads. Not that they have anything to do with this thread but its a fairly common theme.

Great advice. I keep a drive and a backup to it with all application downloads and updates. And it does come in handy.
