Default 002 in stand-alone mode...

I would be interested in hearing people's thoughts on using the 002 in stand-alone mode. I hope to use it for live drums in order to acheive a level of quality not normally heard in smaller rooms. That is, the lack of expertise most engineers have at this level means they usually load up the drums with too much compression, verb, etc. whereas if I set up my mix in advance and let the engineer control the levels only, I may get better results. With the 002 can I be the master of my own mix?!

Default Re: 002 in stand-alone mode...

i wouldnt just for the fact the 002 has only 4 Mic Pres, cant really mic a whole kit like that. i found that the 002 stand-alone feature is a bit lack luster, but what do you expect thats not its main job. i usually use it in a "rehursal" sence in that most of my equipment is patched into it in one way shape or form and use the stand-alone feature to run to my monitors as to not have to load a PT session when im just composing or tinkering around w/ instruments that need to be amped. if there was a way to use the ADAT lightpipe in stand-alone mode i would be all over it w/ my 8 channel mic pre to mic a kit, but you cant its only an 8x2x2 mixer.
