Default PT 9.0.5 Native has problem with playback engine

Mac 2.26 Quad-Core Nehalem with 14 GB RAM, OS X 10.6.6, PT 9.0.5 HD|Native, Omni I/O, UAD-2 Quad Neve

I'm continually finding PT defaulting to the Aggregate I/O as the current playback engine on launching PT and then finding I have no option for HD Native there.

As reported on the web, I have to delete the “com.apple.audio.AggregateDevices.plist” file from the preferences and reboot the Mac before I will see HD Native as a choice in the Current Engine pulldown.

I'm not sure why this is happening but I imagine when I listen to iTunes or playback any audio from the Mac system through the Omni, it is switching to the Aggregate I/O. The problem is my option to go back to the HD Native engine then is gone until I do the above.

Can anyone suggest a fix for this?

TIA,

JoeM

a) what slot is your Nantive card in? some machines it's beter to be in 3 or 4 instead of 2

The HD Native is in slot 2 and the UAD-2 Quad is in 3. I'll try what you suggest, thanks.
