Default What\'s the best new cartoon SFX library?

Hi All,
Thanks in advance for you time. I want to beef up my SFX library. I need, specifically, cartoon SFX. I have just about all the older cartoon librarys (Hanna Barbara, Warner Brothers). What I'm looking for is a amazing library with really cool sounds. I don't like SFX libraries that are over effected with reverbs and delays, just the dry SFX. Thanks again and have a good day.
Peace,
Brandon

I think that some of the best "cartoon" sound effect libraries can be made up of some of the primo effects from the major MAINSTREAM libraries. In other words, don't assume that just because you're working on cartoons that you have to use "cartoony" effects.

Some of the coolest effects around can be made by taking an existing mainstream effect and then tweaking it, layering it, distorting it, or changing it in some way. Using the same old tired HB or WB effect that we've heard 10,000 times isn't nearly as creative as coming up with something new. On the other hand, some situations demand the old "pie-in-face" *splat* effect, and nothing else.

That having been said: some of the Hollywood Edge packages have some interesting sounds here and there. Sonic Science (known for "Blow Tools") has some great stuff, very well-recorded.

I'm with the tweak and distort method..

u got a free copy of reason with Protools?

try loading random sounds into the sampler and pitch them up or down ( alot??)

try changing the resonance and filters,

the scream 4 distortion can impart a cartooony character - maybe try less distortion more of the "body" control

mapping controllers really helps u play with the sound....

some freebies i made here... http://www.fork-media.com

click on the forkin whoosh collection then free cartoon sfx link

If protools had different options for scubbing and cueing it would be great- on the fly vary speeds, and bring in the 1 frame pitch accurate jog from ( Audiovision? )..

I have loads more I made but can't put them all up can i?

cheers

martin
