Default PTLE7.4CS4 w/ 002 rack hangs on DAE Loaded in Vista

Hey there,
I have a 002 rack running 7.4cs4 on xp home works fine. Bought a new laptop running Vista last week and installed this same setup. Installs fine, loads, runs plug-ins, goes through DAE then hits "DAE Loaded" and stops. Just sits. I've waited 10 minutes, and nothing.

Here is part of my sandra report:

Sorry, I got preoccupied with other stuff.

No real luck yet. It still hangs and times out. if I unplug the firewire from the laptop, it'll say cannot find 002 etc and plug it back in and hit ok. Pro Tools loads. Can load sessions, inport files etc. When I hit play, I get a clock error, and and it says check the unit. So I dont think i'm any further.

Surrestions? I can copy these messages over if that'll help.

Thanks
Scott

Are you sure the Centrino processor works with PT? Did you upgrade your plug-in's before installing Vista 7.4 LE?

How do I find out if the processor works with PT? I've gotten it to load, only it wont play. Its a brand new computer, so I'd think it would load. I've got it running on a celleron processor thats 5 years old... on xp however.

I didnt upgrade any plug-ins, I only installed PT as far as I know, I tried installing other things, but removed it all in hopes of getting it to load with a bare setup. Nothing.

Well I found a way to get my situation working, just now. Not sure if it'll help you, but for now, its got me up and running.

Go into Control Panel, Device Manager, and disable your 1394/firewire connection. Once its disabled, enable it. Try running Pro Tools now. No restart, just go. If you restart it, you're back at the beginning. So this is something you'll have to do everytime you turn on your computer to run Pro Tools. Hassle? yes. Can I deal with it until they fix whatever this is? yes.

Hey, new user and I was trying to find a thread about this error and only found this one.

I upgraded PT 7.4 LE to CS7 hopping it would fix it but the little trick you posted before worked like a charm (disabling then enabling the 1394).

Any idea if this was already corrected or is a vista problem?

I'm on a Toshiba A300D - 14D Laptop with Windows Vista Home Premium

I can tell you that Vista 64bit is not supported and will not work.
