Default Automating Pre/Post Fader Sends

Just wanted to throw this out there,

Any other mixers for film / tv, mixing in the box, feel that the ability to automate the "pre/post" fader on the sends would be an asset.

With mixing all in the box, you are limited to have a src sound completely wet, unless you process it with an AS reverb, being able to drop a fader, and pre-fader send a sound to a verb, Dnoise, whatever, and then snap out of that for the next, would be a great feature, i think. Any one esle agree? or have nifty PT workarounds....

Cheers.
Mh.

Hello Matthew Harrold:

Although it uses up an extra slot, I often set up (2) sends to the same reverb from a track; one post-fader and the other pre. That way I can just reach for the one I need to use at the moment. But I agree, automating that switch would be nice.

Best,

oh, i agree. a pre/post automatable switch would be great. i have thought of it, even recently. i ended up severly changing settings, then switching back settings on something that was pre fader.

putting 2 on is a good idea and easier now that we have more sends in pt 7.

I did not realize that this was a 10 year old post! Still a good idea.
The 2 send set-up is a great work around.

10 years and still no Switch .. sad ... i wonder out loud though .. would there be an audible Glitch or Dip in audio when changing from Pre- to Post ..

this would need to be addressed .. as it seems to shut the track down for a moment while it reconfigures itself ..

maybe in the next 10 years !!! great idea though ..

Probably yes, due to a switch in delay compensation

Well yes!
10 years.
It would be fantastically useful to be able to automate pre/post sends.
Dare I say, Folders in the clip list again, as well?
