I have a SIIG and its been great. Does what it is suppose to do without problems. Several years ago I also purchased a $50 ADS Pyro PCMCIA firewire card for a laptop. I got occasional -60xx errors in testing. Had ADS send me a new dongle, and still the same. I then purchased a cheap generic PCMCIA firewire card for $20 from Newegg and all was fine. So, I am not a fan of ADS. But if you would like to purchase it for testing, I can give you a great deal...$30

I've used the SIIG and would give it a thumbs up. The ADS pyro is supposedly getting hard to find.

Both cards should perform equally well and be transparent to the user.

I use the ADS Pyro on my main machine, and a SIIG 3-port on my other rig. Both work fine.
