Default 11 character message warning

When I open Protools LE, a message says to eliminate 11 character volume names or there could be a corruption of Interlok plug-in authorizations. What is the method for changing the 11 digit character volumes? What exactly does this message refer to? Does this warning refer to the folder names that come with the software?

Thank you
ArcticSeer

your c: and/or d: drive has a name that is 11 characters or more long... shorten it by right clicking on the drive name, select the rename option, enter a new name or shorten the existing name to 11 characters or less and remember that spaces count as a character.

It could be any drive on your system, including external USB or firewire drives. Use Windows Explorer and expand 'My Computer' to see the list of drives. Keep all drive names under 11 characters. As tonepad said, right-click on the drive and select rename.
