elastic audio "disabled" - how to I enable?

We just upgraded to PT 7.4.

The Elastic Audio pull-down is not showing up. I click on the pull-down on a track and nothing happens: no pull-down shows up. When the track view is on "small", one of the pull-downs shows "elastic audio", but it is grayed out.

I searched in "what's new in PT 7.4" and a warning on page 10 states "with Pro Tools HD, Elastic Audio is disallowed on voiced tracks. Use dynamic voice allocation for tracks on which you want to use Elastic Audio".

What is "dynamic voice allocation"??? When I search for this, nothing comes up.

But the bigger question is, how do I get Elastic Audio to appear in the pull-down on the track?

Make sure your session is using WAV and not SDII.
