Default Eleven Free - pretty awesome

I'm lovin' the Eleven Free that comes with PT8.

Does the full version live up to the quality of the two amps they give you in the free version? The full version price is the only thing that kind of turns me away.

I'm used Amplitube 2 extensively, and I've always found it annoying and over the top. And the EQ on the amp heads does little to nothing.

I'd definitely use Eleven Free over Amplitube, even though you obviously are more limited in the sounds you can use... though IMO they are that much better that it's worth sacrificing the versatility for the quality.

What do you all think of Eleven Free and of Eleven LE?

Eleven LE is included with MPT2. If you already own MPT1, you can basically acquire Eleven LE for the $50 upgrade price!

It should also be pointed out that the last I checked the MPTK2 was the same price as the stand alone version of Eleven so why not buy it and get a lot more for your money.

I don't currently have the toolkit, but that's very tempting. I could even get the Academic version for about $248 (in college, but almost finished).

You get a lot with that toolkit. I hear Smack! is quite impressive too.

Would you say the MP Toolkit 2 for $248 is a steal for all it comes with?

Well it is 150.00 cheaper than the standalone version. It's also cheaper than what I paid for the full version of Eleven LE off of eBay awhile back. Do you need help reaching for your wallet

Seems like the logical choice to me...

Eleven does sound good but a huge RTAS hit!
With a new session, Amplitude, GTR gives me about a 10% RTAS hit but Eleven scores 18-20% maybe the code needs looking at...

Thanks for bringing that up. That's a big minus for me. I hate the hit that Amplitube gives the cpu. I hate the way it sounds, so it's totally not worth the hit. If I ever use it, its just to get a scratch track down really quick, or do a short overdub part. And I usually print it right away and get rid of that plug.

Wish I'd gotten more Xmas money, there's lots of new stuff I'd like to get.
