Default PT Screen Shots .Gif Animation How To?

I have noticed that the more advanced users of this site use .gif animation to illustrate various topics and techniques in PT. Can anyone direct me to where I can get info. on how to create and link to gif animation files of the pc screen actions as I have seen from several users here? This is an excellent way of getting an idea accross which might take a while to explain in text. As they say, one movie (or gif animation) is worth a thousand pictures..........Thanks!

I think (but cannot confirm) Shane is using screen capture software (such as Camtasia Studio from Techsmith, great product, I use it myself) to acheive his animated gifs.

I'm having a little trouble with the URL function. I'll try again.

Microsoft had a free GIF Animation program. You can try one of these websites to download it.

Cheers,
