Default 002 won\'t initialize

When starting up my system the 002 gets to the "Validating" point and just stays there. Any suggestions?

Prior to this problem I was getting some PT error messages regarding an inability to save session data. Next problem: I was unable to stop recording either from the 002 or the software interface. I had to quit the software to get it to stop! After several more attempts with the same result I uninstalled PT and reinstalled. Now I have the initialization problem.

I'm using a Mac Book Pro (10.4.8) with PT 7.0 a G-Tech Firewire 800 drive
