Default Punch out while other tracks keep recording?

In a situation where multiple tracks are recording, is there a way to disarm a track or two without stopping the overall playback and record as well?

The four record modes don't deal with this (destructive, loop, punch etc). I'm wondering if there is a key combination that will disarm a track while others keep going?

Also, while I'm here.... Is it possible to alter the "original time" stamp? I am guessing it's not possible, and the only option is changing "user time" stamp. But maybe I'm wrong....

Pro Tools 6.4 and above as a record mode called "TrackPunch". That's the mode you want to be in. ADC needs to be off and each record track needs two voices available. Make sure voice allocation is set to "Dynamic". In the Operations menu, select "TrackPunch" or Control click the master record button in the transport window until you see a "T". If you Control click a track's record button it will turn blue and the master record button will flash blue. If you now click the track's record button, it will arm and you can punch those tracks in with the master record button and punch them out individually if you like. If you want to punch an individual track in, don't arm it but instead click the master record and arm the transport. Now when you play, any "blue" track can be punched in and out individually. And you're not wrong about time stamping.
