Import of a Mono Audio file creates a Stereo Track
All,
I'm a bit stumped here. When I try to import a Mono WAV file through File, Import, Audio it creates a Stereo track. I can confirm that during the import process, when I highlight the WAV file it shows Channels 1 and from there I select "Copy". I'm running Pro Tools Version 2021.12.0 on macOS Catalina Version 10.15.7 (19H1615) Thoughts? |

Re: Import of a Mono Audio file creates a Stereo Track
Personally I wouldn't worry about it, I'd just check if it was actually mono with a null test and if so split the stereo track into mono and bin one side (and the original stereo track). And then maybe create a duplicate of the mono side, just in case there is something amiss with the headers in the original file.

Re: Import of a Mono Audio file creates a Stereo Track
You could also import it into the Clips list, create a mono track, and drag the mono file from the Clips list to the track.

Re: Import of a Mono Audio file creates a Stereo Track
Thanks for the response.
I have an open ticket with Avid Support and sent them screen shots of the entire process I've gone through. I'll wait until I hear back from them. Best... |
