"Creative" was sued for misleading advertising/packaging regarding their early models of Audigy and Extigy soundcards...something to do with allegedly falsely claiming 24bit 96kHz processing...they settled, and Rail's link leads to the settlement info and claim form, which applies to anyone who purchased one of these cards.

Thanks Rail,

At least now I'll get something for the $189.00 I wasted in 2002.
Before buying a Mbox and an 002R.
Never been happier.

Matt

[qoute]In order to qualify for a certificate good for 25% off the sales price of any one Creative product, not to exceed sixty-two dollars and fifty cents ($62.50) off, you must provide the model and serial number of your Audigy ES, Audigy Platinum, Audigy Platinum eX, Audigy Gamer, Audigy MP3+, or Extigy model sound card ("Sound Card"),[/qoute]

does this mean we'll get a check back for 25% up to 62.50 or does it mean we get like a coupon for when we buy more creative labs stuff?

also I have an Audigy 2 Platinum eX, that probably means that I am not able qualified.

In the Watchdog section of this month's Maximum PC, they say that the $62.50 rebate is good at the online Creative store only.

Class action settlements always crack me up. You were screwed by a company, and you won a lawsuit against them. What is your remedy? You get to buy more of their crappy products at an insult of a discount!
