Default Stop PT from looking for missing files

Hi, All. I have done some spring cleaning and erased audio files that i know are not, and never will be, used in any of my sessions. Now, every time i open a session PT tells me that there are audio files missing (as many as 77 in one session) and i am given the choice of skipping rendering over all, render manually or render by automation. There is one more option that i can´t remember just know. I mean, i know that there are files missing because i erased them myself and i don´t want PT to look for them. The lion part of the 77 files in one session are retakes and aren´t supposed to ever be used again. It don´t seem to matter that i manually removed them. PT still screens for these "once were" files. So, is there a way to disconnect this function or a preference that hinder PT from looking for missing files? Thx. / Jonas

You should have done the "cleaning" from within Pro Tools using the Clip List. PT doesn't know you wanted to remove the files, so it keeps looking for them.

Now from the clip bin, select all unused>clear/remove from session.

Or if there might be currently unused clips or clip groups that could be needed later, in the Clips Bin menu: Select->Offline and clear. That will remove only the missing files from the session.

As i look for instruction on how to find the clip list i read on this forum that the clip list function is all together gone. Is this true and, if so, is there still a way to achieve what i want to?

No. It is still on the right side of the edit window.

If you are on Pro Tools First, it doesn't exist anymore. But you are in the wrong subforum if that's true.

I'm running 2018.7, and it's still there. Better doggone be. It would be catastrophic to remove the Clips List. No offense, but this is definitely a RTFM moment, not a search the DUC moment.

In the Edit window, bottom right corner, click on the arrow that points to the left. That opens a list of files in your session. At the top it will say CLIPS. At the top right of the list is a downward triangle. Click on that to open the Clips List Menu.

Well, i found the clip list and deleted the unwanted files and now there is no dialouge frame telling me about missing files. Sorry if i came across as a newbie, but that´s because i am. Thx, guys!

No offense taken, but only because i don´t know the meaning of ...oh, read the ****ing manual. I will

Thx for patience and help! / Jonas
