Vocal Effect - Wearing A Glass Helmet
Hi.
What effect or parameters would you use to make a voice sound like it is coming from inside a glass helmet? The helmet would be fully enclosed, like a submarine or astronaut helmet. I think the high end should be shelved, but maybe there should be a resonant frequency somewhere towards the low or middle range. Would you agree? Thanks! |

Re: Vocal Effect - Wearing A Glass Helmet
massive comb filtering would be occurring.
I'd look at a verb and use only the early reflections and make the space as small as possible. You could demo or buy this. https://www.audioease.com/Pages/Spea...akerphone.html |

Re: Vocal Effect - Wearing A Glass Helmet
Yeah a comb filter sounds right.
But I'm having a hard time finding one in the WAVES bundle. I have a ton of WAVES plugins, yet can't seem to find a simple comb-filter. Google searches aren't turning up good results. Any idea what a good plugin would be to apply a comb filter? |

Re: Vocal Effect - Wearing A Glass Helmet
A tupperware bowl in front of the speaker miced with a 57 inside. Experiment until it sounds good.

Re: Vocal Effect - Wearing A Glass Helmet
Tupperware bowl being plastic won't have the same bounce/sound as a glass bowl. I remember doing these kinds of things when I was a little kid all those decades ago.

Re: Vocal Effect - Wearing A Glass Helmet
Are you saying that all Tupperware is plastic? If so, I'd like to complain on a few Christmas presents.

Re: Vocal Effect - Wearing A Glass Helmet
All Tupperware I've seen (and that's plenty) has been plastic.

However, the old "use your ears" applies. Plastic, glass, metal containers... what sounds believeable for the scenario? Oh, and watch "Gravity". It's great!
