Default Auratone comparable monitors...

Looking for a monitor comparable to and more readily available than Auratones - any suggestions?

Why don't you email me directly with what you'd part with them for.

I find the Roland MA-12's to be quite nice for this purpose. Variable bass and treble, self powered.... they are the tiny little Roland speakers used in many Avid rigs.

I had one pair of Auratones years back that I felt comfortable with, but I haven't found a pair since that I feel suit my needs.

FWIW, YMMV.

I have a pair of the Pyramids and have been pleased with them. They are not quite as "boxy" sounding as the auratones, but they work well for a real world reference.

JBL Control Micro. About the same size, better imaging, flatter response, handles higher amp power.

Another for the Roland MA-12. I have them in addition to Genelec.
You can find them on eBay for around $60.

Radio Shack (local store or on-line) sells small, non-powered, magnetically shielded speakers which work well for "small, lo-fi" monitoring. $30/each
