Can the ADATin and out of192 digital carry 96k ???

Hi guys i was wondering if the ADAT in and out of the 192 digital/or any of the new HD interfaces/ can transmit 8 channels of in and out at 96k.I know that ADAT optical and TDIF are only 44.1 or 48.,but when i was reading the specif. for 192 for some reason i get the idea that it might be possible.I have curently a RME DS Pro wich can go up to 96k,which i was thinking of selling but if i can use it at 96k,it would be nice to have an extra 8 ins and outs.

i think someone said something about doing it stereo only in/out via optical.

Hi,

The ports on the enclosure support ADAT mode at sample rates up to 48 kHz and in TOS-Link mode, supports two-channel Optical input and output at sample rates up to 96 kHz. This port does not feature real-time sample rate conversion. The ports on the digital card support 48k only but can have hardware SRC for use with higher sample rate sessions. Perhaps I'm missing something here, but I believe that ADAT ports, do indeed support high sample rates ( on the inputs anyway). I have a few 192 i/o, analog and digital versions, and I connected an RME card form Logic, and did a quick session at 96 K. The ADAT out or RME to ADAT in of the 192, and I was getting signal. I seem to recall that the track count in Logic / RME was reduced to to bandwith, but I'm pretty sure 96 K works on the digital ADAT ports of the 192.

No, the audio is converted (with SRC) to the higher sample rate.. but the ADAT port without S/MUX can only handle up to 53kHz.

i monitor through the rme..... sounds way better than the 96i/o
