Small PT9 annoyance.
Is there any way to lock pro tools 9 to a specific interface? On my mac pro, sometimes i get a random switch to aggregate IO, which causes me to waste a few minutes troubleshooting every time before i realize what has happened.

Re: Small PT9 annoyance.
It will only switch to Aggregate I/O if it can't find the last hardware used, so make sure your interface is powered on and connected before you launch PT.

+1, Turn hardware on then boot computer & when finished shutdown computer then turn hardware off.

Re: Small PT9 annoyance.
I am using a RME PCIe Raydat card. I don't think that is the issue.

I use an older 002r that sometimes likes to unlink itself. I've done the power harness replacement, but sometimes still have issues. Usually it's just a quick off-on and it's back. However, sometimes it unlinks when I haven't noticed and PT9 will choose my Echo Mia soundcard that I use for iTunes and everything else (I like to have an additional soundcard so I can switch between PT and iTunes while leaving PT open). After opening a large session that takes a few minutes to load and then noticing that PT has selected the Mia as my interface it's a bit of a PITA to have to close and reopen the session just to use my 002r. I kind of miss the "no Digidesign hardware connected" warnings from the old days because at least I'd know before I loaded a whole session! |
