check out The Filthy Film Critic .
He has some hilarious film reviews. This week he reviews 'Open Water'.
Look in the "filthy archives" for past reviews.
(Not for the faint of heart,BTW)
Oh my god...

That is too funny. Thanks for the ups on that one, mate! I read his "Dreamcatcher" review...I was in tears!

If you never gained compassion or appreciation for the PLIGHT of a sexual culture(homosexuality) you may dislike "The Hours" .My take on that movie is that it should be a REQUIRED movie in schools. I liked "Lost in Translation".

I loved "Farenheit 911" and "Outfoxed" was right up there. I will see "Bushs Brain" as well. Probably brilliant as well.

Oh.this was a OT thread about worst movies.Big deal.

I forgot to mention "Once upon a time in Mexico" with Antonio Banderas, Salma Hayek, and Johnny Depp. Depp was pretty good in it, but if they had cut out all the slow-mo fx, the movie could have been a tight one hour.

The best part was actually the "behind the scenes" extra stuff on the DVD.
There was a tour of the director's PT HD post facility . . . in his garage <!>

That does sound cool, and yes, I despised that movie.

House of Sand and Fog: What a steaming pile. Note to director: EMPATHY IS A GOOD THING IF YOUR MOVIE IS BASED ON HAVING SOME. Try to have some for your audience next time.

In the Bedroom: Self-indulgent,let's-try-really-hard-to-make-a-deep-movie that isn't AT ALL movie. Tripe.

It seems to me that lately there have been a lot of movies that are supposed to be very moving and philosophically deep that are totally missing the mark. By throwing the audience into a situation that screams for compassion without earning it and makes everything that comes after tit a total farce. It is the WRONG kind of suspension of belief. The movies I mentioned above are prime examples of this.

The movies that made meel feel dumber after watching them:

Titanic
Matrix 2 and 3 (way to ruin a good premise, guys)
Star Wars 1&2 (or 4&5 however you look at it) George, you should be ASHAMED.
Kevin Costner
Armageddon
The Godfather Part III
Adam Sandler's one movie that he keeps remaking every year or so
And, The Lord of the Rings trilogy. Now, I know this is a controversial choice but I have to stick to my guns on this one. For reference, I am a huge fan of the books. My reasons are too many for this small space but let me just say that for STARTERS the *ahem* acting in these would have been better if directed by Jar Jar than Peter "I have the most giant balls in the world" Jackson.
