Default Waiting for the Video Engine to launch...

I can't enable the Video Engine in Protools 2019.5 and Mojave.
No problem with High Sierra and PT 2019.5.
Am I the only one?
Cheers, Detlef.

No, you're not the only one... I can get it going with a restart, but then need to restart again after a few hours. ..or loading new sessions.

Had the same issue after upgrading to 2019.5.

Make sure you restart immediately after performing the above fix. I had to do it twice but after that, no issues.

So they want you to delete the VideoEngine folder in the /Users/Shared folder.
I don't even have this folder! Is it a hidden folder?
Detlef.

Any of you using a Blackmagic driver? I know different versions are hit and miss and really effect VE performance.

It doesn't seem to matter whether I am using the BM driver or not. I have to restart the whole system multiple times a day to keep the video engine working at all.

Note, I contacted support and they got back to me with the following..

Please try to delete Pro Tools preference files. This procedure will reset Pro Tools preferences to a default state. Try this to correct odd or erratic behavior in the application:

Go to folder ~/Library/Preferences/Avid/Pro Tools
From the Finder, click on the Go menu in the menu bar.
Select Go to Folder.
Type in the following: ~/Library/Preferences/Avid/Pro Tools and click Go.
Delete all files in this folder, including:
AvidListFile.txt
DSIPrefs
InstalledAAXPlugins
Last Used.pio
Pro Tools Prefs
updater.properties

....so I tried that. Didn't change anything and I still have to restart the system after a while. (oh and it took a while to rebuild all the preferences etc.)
