Yep I'm getting the same version nag when trying to install either 10.3.8 or the latest 10.3.9. This is on my MBpro which was a Mav partition with 10.3.5 installed. That install and update to Yosemite went well so far except for this oddity. I've been running my MTL partition with PT 10.3.8 so I never kept my Mavs/PT install up to date. Frankly I didn't care for MAvs that much but Yosemite is interesting to me...love the clean look tho PT looks the same...and Yosemite is really zippy. I wonder if the hack the guy above mentioned is available, since it makes sense that the PT installer is think this is an ancient OS X ver 10.1...geez that was before X was named for cats right?

OK I see the routine used from McStolk. THX for the intel brother. When I get a second I'll try that. I'm just coming out of a Friday Networking hell trying to add an Artist Mix to my Artist Control..I won but honestly I'm not exactly sure which "fix" fixed it. Was an eBay unit in great shape but I believe it was set for Static IP on my DHCP network. Then to make the weekend more fun I cloned my i7 Win7 OS SSD to a larger Crucial 512GB SSD...the cloning soft didn't seem to stick but again "perseverance furthers"...just pulled the orphaned OS SSD and we're rocking again.

Try this - it worked for me as an experiment - use Migration Assassin (Assistant) to bring your PT10 install over from the Mavericks partition. And yes I get the same graphics issue people talk about with text missing for insert plugins.

you were extremely lucky
Migration Assistant is notorious at not doing high level apps correctly (that includes FCPX and Logic)

I only did it just to try it because I knew of the graphics issues with PT10 and Yosemite. Not intended for serious use. Proof of concept if you will.
