Default Native Card flasher 15 hours. Still not done!

I installed 10.2 yesterday. After the install I tried to launch protools and it told me I had to update the Native card firmware and then proceeded to hang.

I then tried using the native card flasher to update the firmware. That was a 6:00pm yesterday-- there was no immediate progress so I left it running overnight. Now at 9:00am, it's here:

/Users/AudioWorkstation/Downloads/NativeCardFlasher/NativeCardFlasher ; exit;
Audio-1-Mac-Pro:~ AudioWorkstation$ /Users/AudioWorkstation/Downloads/NativeCardFlasher/NativeCardFlasher ; exit;

*** Native Firmware Updater ***

Image File: "/Users/AudioWorkstation/Downloads/NativeCardFlasher/DSI.framework/Resources/ProToolsNative_FW_d400.bin"
Programming: 100% -- Complete!
Programming: 55%
So how long can I expect this to continue-- how many things does it need to program? And why does Avid think it's ok to subject their customers to this?

Hopefully it will be done before the holiday weekend is over.

It is very important in which slot the card is located. Which MacPro have you got? in older MacPros (3.1 and 2.1) the card should be in slot 2. In newer in slot 4.

I have an older Mac Pro Harpertown.

Upgraded yesterday to 10.2, it told me the Native card needed upgrading, and it took about 20 seconds. Mine is in slot 2.

Tom you're card is in the right place. This is why it took 20 seconds.
