I had set cubase to normal asio guard which is 1024 samples, therefore identical to pro tools' hybrid buffering system of 1024 samples.
Apples for apples test :)

PT beat even Logic in that regard..

But as for live armed tracks actually sitting at the 128 buffer, Cubase and PT spread the load identically and got the same synth instances exactly, that could be played live.
