Mac Pro 2013 10 or 12 Core?
Hello
About to upgrade a 4 Core Mac Pro 2013 (D300) to a faster processor and more RAM. Looking for best option. I wish to maximize performance for Plugins and Virtual instruments in Pro Tools Ultimate version 2020-09 on MAC OS Mojave. System will be upgraded to 64 GB RAM. This is the info I have so far (not sure if it is accurate): Mac pro 2013 Core Compare.jpg Looking at this information, the 8-core appears to be the best option all around, but I have read the 10 and 12 core are better for audio. I realize these numbers alone don't tell the whole story. I am curious as to what is the real world experience out there. Any other processors that work, and have better performance? Anything to watch for in selecting a processor upgrade? Thoughts? Thanks. . .
