No. Neither as Core Audio nor ASIO.

Positive? Because it worked with 8. Avid doesn't support it, but if it's an interface and ProTools 9 is capable of standalone, I'm not certain that it won't work...

They had said it was incompatible with 8 but that was only because they don't 'support' it.

Hi,

Questionable. but would the new coreaudio driver work with the old MBox?

Have you tried it? If the Mbox shows up in other programs through CoreAudio Manager, why won't it work in ProTools?

My understanding was that 8.0.4 drops support and it won't start up with the Mbox1 attached, just as any versions after 6.4 won't start up with a 001 attached? Can someone correct me if this is wrong?

Well, that doorstop is the only 2 x 2 USB interface that I own. I was considering buying the new Protools Mbox... but may not now.

You buy the Crossgrade, it does not work, go buy a Pro Tools Mbox, what have you lost?

I have a working protools system currently. 8.0.1 on 10.5.8. If I can somehow use my old Mbox with PT9 on 10.6.x then it saves me money buying a new interface that *does* work.

I'm trying on my B machine. I'll report back with any success/failure.

Installed CoreAudio 7.4.2 over the top of PT9... that caused PT9 not to want to open at all.

PT9's CoreAudio Manager sees the Mbox but then says "Status: Not Connected (HW not found)".

My next trick is to try installing the Mbox 2 drivers...
