Default Control won't connect? Via Ethernet cable to router?

My pro tools computer doesn't have a wireless card, but is connected to the Internet via a wireless router via an Ethernet cable .. I wasn't sure if the control app would work with this set up, but it turns out when I pull up the eucon software on the pro tools computer, it finds the iPad and lists it as an option. I thought I was home free!
But.... The iPad just says "not connected" ... I have eucon enabled in pt prefs.. And select the iPad in the eucon software.. But once I save setting and quit..nothing seems to change or take effect. What am I missing?

I have 3.3.2. As soon as I load the ipad app, the ipad shows up in "my surfaces" on the EuControl software on my Pro tools computer. .. but still says "not connected" on the ipad itself. Is there something I need to click, change, or perhaps
another step I am missing?

hi, i have still not done this yet ... as by this picture it seems i need to have another USB Hub or power adapter and a USB Split Cable - just for this - Apple, please stop taking money out of my pocket .. ??

so now, instead of having a Long Ethernet Cable to the iPad with a duple adapters I am now Tied to the length of USB again .. Lame ..

and i would have to upgrade my 2.4ghz devices so i can run Control on 5ghz on Network ... as it is so Buggy for me at 2.4 it is unusable .. hence why i have been looking for hardware solution ..

rant over .. back to finding some other solution ..

happy to hear your setup is working ..

cheers john

Default Re: Control won't connect? Via Ethernet cable to router? SOLUTION ETHERNET WORKS!

Finally YES YES YES

IPAD ETHERNET WOOORKS NO WLAN ANYMORE

All you need is:

1. The all new APPLE Lightning to USB3 Camera Adapter
2. The Apple USB Ethernet adapter (connecteted to the camera adapter)

No configuration. It just works, and better than Wlan

You MUST have your Power Adapter connected to the apple USB3 Adapter.
Otherwise you get the message that the ethernet adapter takes to much power and it does not work.

The nice thing is that the ipad gets loaded while running.
All tested apps seem to work with this ethernet solution.
Browser, Dropbox, email.........

See this picture PTControl running without wlan.

If you are having problems with your ipad not connecting, make sure it has the latest version of the OS installed. There was a problem whereby if you had used Safari or other browser before connecting to PT Control, the OS would stop other apps from connecting. I had this problem which has been solved with the OS update. Now running OS 9.3.1 on my ipad Air.

this is not truly the way i would like it to work .. i posted his in the other thread as well .. we need to Power to come down the Ethernet line not USB .. unless someone makes a battery that can be mounted directly to your iPad so you do not have to be tied to the short USB power leash ...
