Mbox mini 3 No Sound after Reinstall

Hi! Newbie to the forum here,

I have a problem with my audio output. I Use windows 7 ultimate, an Mbox Mini 3 and Pro Tools 8. I use an extra sound card from Sound blaster X-fi. Everything worked fine until I decided to reinstall Windows.

After downloading + installing all the updates form windows + extra Mbox drivers, there was no sound from the Mbox. The windows sound device says everything works normal and in the output signal shows that there should be sound…but there isn’t. There is no sound in Pro Tools or Windows when i connect the Mbox.

When the Mbox is connected and I play sound via youtube there is a signal (but no sound), but when I play via Pro Tools there is no signal. (see attached file)

I disabled the internal sound card, I even disabled it in the bios but this had no effect. I also disabled the all the other output devices. Could it be a problem with the Mbox? I uploaded a list of audio hardware on my pc, unfortunately most of it is in Dutch.


I am running out of ideas so help would be much appreciated!

In all applications, is the MBOX selected as the interface you want to use?

It is the default in Pro Tools. I have also reset the output functions in the I/O, and followed the Computer Optimization Guides section and deleted the preferences.

Also I have tried making it the default sound device in windows and NOT making it the default sound device (and disabling the rest/not active sound devices)

I do however, hear an instrument when it is plugged in (in this case a guitar)

Hello I have a MBOX mini 3 and a MXL xlr cable microphone. I use garage band. Now it recognizes my mbox but not my mic. No sound no nothing.
Can anyone help me PLZ? I'll greatlyappreciate it
