So .. has Slate Raven Finally met it’s Match?
With the Modular Acustica Plug-in Controller maybe they finally made ITB fun and interesting but I might be somewhat dumb as I dont know what you actually get for the $1K pricetag as it seems like that only gives us the basic channelstrip and the rest of the cool stuff is buy inside like an iPad App that starts out at $10 but ends up over $100 before you have anything workable ...
And you still need a few big touchscreens for this to work. I can’t imagine uskng this layout on a small ”15-16” laptop touchscreen. https://www.soundonsound.com/reviews...ve-sos-preview Anyone here who use Acustica plugins and how are they compared to UAD-2 for instance?

Re: So .. has Slate Raven Finally met it’s Match?
Only runs their plugins though right?
Unless that changes, then it can’t really compete with Ravens and the like. Personally, I just don’t like touch screens at all for faders and knobs. Buttons, sure. But pushing faders or turning knobs... pass. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

It will be interesting to see where this heads over time.

Re: So .. has Slate Raven Finally met it’s Match?
Hmmm, looks too proprietary to me based on a quick read. However, anything that can push the technology forward should make for better products down the road(let's face it...competition is a major factor in Pro Tools getting better).
I tried using a touchscreen a couple of years back(DTouch) but found that once I got past the "gee whiz this is neat" stage, I sent it back(as always, YMMV). Dtouch was VERY similar to the Slate in many ways, including many of the same limitations on what could be displayed on the screen. The most useful part of the entire package(for me) was the Macro's(which the company stopped offering by itself). Slate issued Batch Commander a good 18 months ago for Mac, but despite constant requests, they STILL say the Windows version is 6 months away(despite that they said this 18 months ago). I know they have it because its working on Windows if(and only if) you bought the full package with their touchscreen.
