Default Pro-Tools and mLAN

In my studio set-up I will be using the Yamaha Motif XS8 as my main keyboard/controller. The motif is set up so you can use either a)a regular old midi cable b)usb connection which expands midi applications a lot and/or c)an mLAN connection. Some studio software, such as Cubase, are designed to take full advantage of the mLAN connection so that everything on the motif can control just about anything on the computer (faders, knobs, etc). Is the same possible between the motif and PT, or should I just stick with the USB connection?

Thanks

...my USB midi connection from my Yamaha P-250 troubled me a lot in combination with protools. My good old Yamaha SY-99 is now connected with a "normal" midi cable to my MBOX2.
So be aware of the midi USB from Yamaha....I think there is some update/info regarding this in www.digidesign.com or global.yamaha.com

Another Motif user told me that he uses the USB connection with PT and it works fine. I think the USB midi implementation on the Motif's was improved over the SY-99.
