Default Anomalies introduced with "Consolidate" command (opt/shift/3)

Problem with PT8.0.1, Dual PPC G5, 10.5.8. When I Consolidate regions (opt/shift/3), there are "thumps" between the consolidated regions, where there should be digital silence. Any thoughts?
