Ron - coming up to NAMM so this could be re-launched to many as a new Module/product which actually will arrive 'soon'.

Maybe Slate can write their modules in a way that the common rack code could be integrated easily into a standalone version in future. VBC started as a rack originally but eventually developed into standalone plugins too.

Pretty sure that Steven 'got the message' on members' views on the exclusive rack vs standalone issue in the last VCC thread ... but they've made their call and it looks to favour accomodating future users with new modules coming quicker/easier than meeting their commitments to previous users.

I have VCC, VTM and VBC and this history (combined with delays in delivering VMR resulting in my Neve plugin gap being filled by Waves Schepps + T-Racks) has resulted in me not getting VMR so far.

Less touching on the panel. One touch opens the VMR rack and it's all there for you. Scroll left and right, touch to turn knobs. One unified environment.

I'd rather see individual plugs with support for my ICON but it's unlikely to happen

I will be using the Track Preset (hack) that PT 11 has available for loading my VCC channel plugins. Seems like it's a neat way to setup different configurations of the VMR framework plugin while simultaneously designating them for default work purposes.

If this proves to be too much of a hassle, then I will try something else.

That hack has been around for quite a while now. It comes from Pro Tools Express ironically enough!!

The problem of course is, you cannot apply settings to existing tracks, only make new ones.

This functionality is SORELY needed in PT, the sooner the better.

It is odd they have not fully implemented it at this point! Back to the issue of listening to its userbase!!!!

So, I will be able to instantiate the VMR with VCC without any other plug-in visible in the rack? I won't have to look at EQs or compressors GUIs or ads for same? I won't need to install any thing other than VCC?

Then maybe I can live with it.

That's the way it works with the free Revival plugin. You can even close down the VMR Rack to only have one rack space visible. But, I think it still uses "Virtual Mix Rack" as the name in the plugin insert slot.

I thought 3 slots was the minimum.

Err...Maybe that's right. I thought I saw it go down to a single slot, but I'm probably wrong. I'll check it tomorrow when I fire up my rig.
