How to speed up shuttle wheel on Tranzport

I just got a Tranzport last night, and while it seems to work pretty well, the shuttle wheel is extremely slow. Is there any way to change this? That is one of the reasons I got it, to use the wheel to go forward or backward to another spot. It takes about 20 rotations just to go 1 bar, and at that speed it is quicker for me to just press play. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Frontier recommends the following:

Note: it is possible to scroll faster than Pro Tools can update the computer screen and TranzPort’s display. If you scroll faster than the display, it will eventually catch up once you stop scrolling. To improve the display update speed, you can do things like hide the mix or edit window, or turn off “Edit Window Follows Bank Selection” and “Mix Window Follows Bank Selection” in the Display tab of the Setups/Preferences selection.

Note: When changing [the data wheel], the data wheel is updated via the MIDI IN port at a maximum rate of about once every 15 msecs, although it is polled internally at a much higher rate. Therefore, the Data Wheel message contains the number of positive or negative ticks since the last Data Wheel message.
