"Mastering Audio" from Bob Katz as far as I know is considered the highlight.

The best recording/mixing book is "The Mixing Engineer's Handbook" written by Bobby Owsinski. This guy also wrote a mastering handbook, but make sure it's the mixing. It covers EVERYTHING that you would want to know. It also features interviews with the leading engineers and it actually tells their secrets that they usually wouldn't give out. Anyway, it has been my audio bible. It cost around $30-35, but well worth every penny.
