Have you tried uninstalling the 1.1.7 driver and try using the older 1.0.8 driver.

As a matter of interest, was it changed from USB3 to USB2 port?

I just bought a used Eleven Rack with firmware 1.03 I would like to update to ver 2 but kind of afraid to try based on some posts I have read with issues, I use Windows 8.1. I almost gave up on the 11R but decided to keep at it so I would like to get the latest firmware installed... I might just take a chance!

I've never tried the update on Windows 8, so I'm not sure what to expect. But there is an incompatibility with having Internet Explorer 9, 10, or 11 installed and running the ERXP Firmware updater.

So I would make sure none of those are on your PC before you try the update.

Yeah I read about IE as well, I have IE 11 but dont use it so its a good excuse to uninstall it. Hopefully Firefox is ok!

You can reinstall IE after the firmware update is complete. It's only the actual installation that is incompatible, once it's installed, everything is fine.

I went to uninstall IE11 but with Windows 8.1 you cant uninstall it, its now a Windows feature so all you can do is shut it off. I did shut it off and don't see any traces of IE on my computer so maybe that procedure is similar to uninstalling.

I still have my old computer with XP, you think I should do the expansion pack upgrade with that computer it might be a safer way to get it.

Yeah I didn't think it could be completely removed from Windows 8. I can't tell you for sure if the XP computer would work, what I can say is that at the time the ERXP was released it worked fine on XP.

Again make sure you have the 11R drivers installed, the older 1.0.8 driver was the current driver at the time, and make sure you have no more than IE8 installed on the XP PC.
