Yeah, I know what you mean, but ... I don't like to spend money on things I don't need and will wait for something which has functionality of S3 and it's only control surface (that's what we really need). In other words - upgrade of Artist Mix with new functionality and new quality is very needed.

Is there overlap between the functions of the dock and the S3 - dock's 8 knobs controlling inserts, pans, sends overlap with the 16 knobs of the S3, correct? Or are they additive in some way?

So for example - if you open a plugin do the parameters spill across the 16 knobs on the S3 AND the 8 knobs on the Dock? Or do you simply choose between using the dock and the S3 with this overlap?

And also nudging, banking, automation buttons etc?

I see how the transport is additive, the ipad softkey screen, the extra fader, track selection screen, more softkey touchstrips etc - but the other physical knob/button stuff is puzzling to me.
