Whatever happened to that group from around 1982 called Eye to Eye... kind of jazzy group a la Steely Dan, Jeff Poccoro stuff. Cute chick singer with a sexy voice. What happened to them?

Hey Grav, them's fightin' words!

The Black Crowes were a GREAT band. Sure, a little overblown and self-important at times, but what true rock n' roll band isn't at times. Too bad the giant egos of the brothers Robinson caused the band to slowly implode.

Southern Harmony and Amorica are still in my top ten albums of all-time list!

Since their much needed "permanent hiatus" went into effect, Chris Robinson has put out two really good solo records, and Rich has recently put out two HORRIBLE ones. Drummer Steve Gorman is now playing with the Stereophonics (the very good British version of the Crowes). Andy Hess (bassist number 4) is with Govt. Mule, Original Bassist Johnny Colt is now with Train, and Guitarist number two, the MIGHTY Marc Freakin' Ford is playing in Ben Harper's band. Weird old Ed, the band keyboardist, played in a couple of different local Detroit band and is probably sleeping on someone’s couch as we speak.

Remember I am from atlanta, so I remember them when they were an REM wannabes called Mr Crowes Garden. I played a show with them once and had a scruffle with Chris. What an ***** he was. "This is MYYYYY dressing room" he says. Huh? Skinny little cuss - I didnt hurt him too bad:)

But really, the whole music community here was aghast when these REM clones suddenly reappeared sounding like a totally different band, different genre and different style. And this same crappy band suddenly was the darling of the universe.

The rest of us just sat back and scratched our heads.

I hate myself for remembering this, because I couldn't stand him then and still can't stand him now... It was Bobby McFerrin, and I saw him recently doing something on PBS. Couldn't tell you what, though.
