You don't need PCIe for that. I bought my Startec PCI Firewire card for $23.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding what you mean but this info appears to be wrong. Also FYI- even though it's becoming obsolete, most new motherboards have a built in Firewire port.

Thanks everyone for the advice. Am going to rebuild my PC with a TB enabled motherboard and SSD drives and go with a TB enable interface.

Should be able to do that in my budget.
