Is 10.5.5 okay for the newest PT HD?

Just got a used Mac Pro for PT HD

I'm going to reformat everything and install the OS from the Leopard DVD.

Is it still a no-no to use Software Update to get the newest versions of everything (currently 10.5.5)?

Otherwise, what OS is the best and I'll dig it up on the Apple site.

While I don't have an Intel MacPro, I do have the last version of the PPC version of the G5.

Currently running 10.5.5 with all the latest updates from Apple, via Software Update.

Pro-Tools HD, V 7.4.2 cs1

Runs just fine, make sure you download the combo update

10.5.5, while not fully qualified yet, does not show any signs of being problematic and actually fixes a couple issues.

It's always best to use the Combo Update whenever possible, rather than the delta update you get with the Software Update panel.
