Default Problems with Pro Tools 9 and Focusrite Saffire

Hi guys. I'm kinda new to audio recording and I got some starting problems..I got this focusrite saffire device that look like this

And I have tried to install latest focusrite drivers that say it supports PT9, but no luck. I still get this "Your audio device is configure with an unsupported audio buffer size. Please select one of the following supported buffer sizes in the device control panel: 32:64; 128; 256; 512;1024;2048".

I can't open PT so I have no way to change buffer size it seems.

Please help !

The Saffire should have its own control panel, can you set the buffer there?

I can change sample rate but not to the values that pro tools ask for. I can change to 44.1 48 88.2 96 and 192.

I'm sorry for these stupid questions! I'm as I said, very new to his modern audio recording stuff. Thanks for your reply

quick update. I downloaded the asio4all driver. And then I managed to change buffer size to 128 in ableton through the asio4all driver, and then I were able to enter PT 9. But when I tried to play my session I get only a clicking sound from my monitors. I also changed the buffer size in PT to the same value.

Also. I have as I said earlier updated the focusrite saffire driver but when I have tried to update the firmware I get an error. Is this important?

Hi SheikYerboti,

In order to use your specific saffire interface you will need to download a windows legacy firewire driver.

Here's a step by step guide on how to do that:

I have no problem using the saffire with other programs like ableton liv, adobe audition etc. Only problem is with Pro Tools 9. And it seems like I need to download the Saffire mixcontrol wich i don't think is compatible with the model I got. Correct me if I'm wrong

Legacy FireWire - I assume that the interface you have is older?
