+ 1

The thing is that I know now what to expect from AC, when to use it and how to use it, and that is important with this kind of plugins. AC is capable of subtlety and err...not being so subtle. I haven't demoed Digi's plugin much, but between AC and Phoenix I'd say there's more bang for the buck with AC. AC1 and AC2 in one package is one sweet deal.

Another vote for Analog Channel - I mix through it on the mix bus when mixing in the box.

Others to try..

DUY: great in my opinion.
SPL's new twin tube: saturation and harmonics control...

I have both AC and the Cranesong. Both offer different flavors when it comes to saturation. Have you demoed both?

I'm with Chris on the DUY stuff... it's pretty great.
I've got AC 1 & 2 also... they're good as well, but my personal taste runs to
DUY more often. Don't have Phoenix, but I DO use a Hedd all the time...

HTH!

I also love the AC.

Also using (maybe even more often) Massey's Tape Head. Give it a try.

+1 fr Massey Tape Head... Amazing. not very subtle but dope on most things...

Used Digi tape sat a few times. . its more subtle and can get some good smearing. . soft saturation for snares. . at least that's how I used it.

Tried to use AC several times and wasn't getting it?? Maybe wasn't the right source material but I just couldn't seem to get it to do a lot??

For me Tape head is used everywhere. .

If I want a more subtle softening of a sound (BV's as well) I actually use the D3 compressor. . fast attack, pretty low ration and auto release... Kinda does a subtle tape sat job IMO. . I know its been around for Many years and overlooked, but I think its a great tool..

Massey is my number one for hats, vox, drums, cybals, loops. Not so much on a kick or bass. . distorts easy, but thats why there are a few toold to use I guess.

Just got the DUY stuff and have yet to install (just finishing my album and need to focus)

Anyway glad to hear it gets thumbs up from a few!!
