Hello everyone.

Im selling some studio equippment and was wondering what would give me the biggest boast in my recordings.

1. Manley Dual Mono Mic PRE

OR

2. RME AD-I 8 Converter.
(you know waht it is)

i know the manley is the better buy but im worried about using it with the 001's converters. I have a presonus digimax. do you think that i coould go from the manley to the presonus digimax and then use the built in converters? Or will it not make that big of a difference?

Hey there,

the digimax converters are a significant step up from the 001, so the Manley would sound much better through the digimax no doubt.

it also depends on how bad you need a mic pre. the Manley at $2160.00 is up there in price.. but if you picked up the RME ADI 8 at around $1100.00 or really do it right with the Lucid ADA 8824 at around $2200.00 along with your digimax your set up would scream.

You're already getting a real good drum sound with the digimax. seems like adding a killer 8 channel converter would give you that final professional crispness that lacks at this level of home recording (especially when it comes to drum dynamics)

remember also, by running vocals, bass, accoustic guit, etc. through your Joe Meek VC1Q utilizing your new converters, would be fantastic as well.

good luck as I know its not easy, I'm debating similar options as well.
