How does one track with the L1? I am able to only open it as a plugin to an already existing digital audio track (all of my tracking is from analog sources). This is why I have only used it as the last plug when mastering.

Your recipe sounds interesting...could you elaborate on the particular reasons why you use each of these plugs in this way?

I'm guessing that the "+" refers to the IDR dither section (I just always open the L1+ and keep the IDR off unless I'm downconverting).

OK, that makes sense...I also leave it up on the master fader pretty much all of the time. I think the Waves plugs are usually designed not to use headroom for sections not activated, such as the IDR in this case. Either that or my system seems to handle it OK.

I still am wondering about the strategy of chaining compressors...I understand the primary reason the FMC RNC sounds so good is due to the fact that it chains 3 identical sections together. (for under $200, no less).

What I mean is - Lay the track and listen with the L1 always open on the master fader.

Why open the L1+ until the final bounce??
Just uses more CPU?? NO??

You can use it to track with an aux, but I do not...
