Default PT HD 8.0.3 Access Violation has Occurred!

Working on this for a few days now, can't seem to figure it out. Even by removing all Plug ins I get this error. Also, there doesn't seem to be any labels on anything. The workspave window show the drive icons, but not the names, same with folders. Somebody please help! I have done all the trashing databases and preferences. I even uninstalled Pro Tools and then reinstalled 8.0 from scratch and then updated to 8.0.3. Thoughts?

PT HD 3 running 8.0.3
Snow Leopard 7.6.2
Mac Pro 2.26 8 Core
8 MB RAM

Sorry, it's too late. I wiped my drive and reinstalled everything. Huge pain in the butt, but it's working now. Weird.

I am just curious, but did you empty the trash immediately after you did this? Friend of mine called me and was having the same issue. He was using the Pref and Database helper with no joy. But not emptying his trash folder. Soon as he did that everything was fine. SB

Did you originally install Snow Leopard over Leopard, or did you do a clean install?

As with the Tiger to Leopard upgrade, we're seeing reports of odd behavior when doing an OS install over a previous OS. Doing a clean install of a new OS is always the way to go to avoid possible problems.

I'm having the same problems; no text in any of the tabs, drop downs, or fields within all of the plug-ins, or in the workspace as 'shannonmills' described. Protools gives "An access violation has occurred" and crashes once a minute, and all AIR plug-ins hang the system. Basically, Protools is completely inoperable.

Problems arose after doing a clean install of Snow Leopard (from Panther), doing an upgrade from Protools 7.3.1 to Protools 8.0, then upgraded to Protools 8.0.3pr shortly thereafter. Just recently updated to the "supported" Protools 8.0.3, with no changes or fixes noticed.

I've re-installed Protools 8.0 reupdated to 8.0.3 & trashed all prefs with no effect.

Please Help.

MacBook Pro / OSX 10.6.2 / 2.16 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo / 3GB SDRAM
Protools LE 8.0.3 / 002 Factory

Nevermind. I fixed it.

1. backup
2. wipe the drive
3. do clean install of snow leopard OSX 10.6
4. update to OSX 10.6.2
5. do clean install of protools LE 8
6. update to protools LE 8.0.3
7. spend the next two days restoring/updating mac

I am still getting it! I did a fresh install from the SL disc. I seem to only get it when I try to get my Axiom pro 49 to work. I can give any info. you want, just ask.

I'm getting access violation errors daily! It usually happens when I'm operating PT a bit fast.. in other words, when I'm hitting keycommands and mouse clicks very close in succession.

I'm using PT. HD 8.0.3 on Mac OS X 10.5.8.
