Does that Wave Editor really work? ...I mean for professional use?

I might buy it instead of getting Sonic's DDP open option...as it is $100 for that alone.

Not sure if I dare trust anything but PMCD...but I hate the workflow in it

Some background:

Problem happens in Sonic PMCD too:

Backline, for DDP playback/QA:

Find what works for you... soundBlade and PMCD works for us. The integrity of the output far outweighs the minimal software issues.

Otherwise... keep hunting.

Hi,

I haven't tried sending a DDP from the new Waveburner in L9 yet but all previous version we're very much hit and miss and i would never risk sending a DDP to press from Waveburner. The pressing plants make it very clear they except no responsibility for any errors!!

Unless you're up for spending $600 for PMCD and the open option, then Waveeditor from audiofile-engineering is the best thing at $79

Personally i haven't been in a rush to adopt DDP. most clients don't understand it and feel safer with hardware in their hand that they can check. Occasionally clients come back asking about DDP because the pressing plant have asked for it.

Without the ability to check and verify the DDP files in another app i'm not 100% confident in using the lower cost apps. Though if Wave-editor does deliver 100% reliable DDP then thats a great thing as everyone could realistically afford the $79. plus they have been developing play-back products as well. Their Backline app was showcased earlier this year but there's been little mention of it lately and its not on their site yet!!

Who is using Waveburner to send to press with 100% reliability?

Who is using Waveeditor to send to press with 100% reliability?

Thats good to know! i have tried the demo and although i prefer how waveburner works i'm happy to use Waveeditor as long as its 100% reliable.

I think there are some playback apps coming onto the market and when they are easy to use then it will really pick up, but at the moment its still only topline clients who will bother with it.

I'm not sure exactly how many, about 5 to 10 sends of Wave Editor DDP's without any problems so far.

But I hate the program in general, the audio editing is...
I will always arrange the album to a solid wav file in PT and only apply track markers and CD TXT in WE and even that is not too easy.
One thing to point out to a new user is you can find the place where insert the album name CD txt in Window>Properties. This might be hard to find at first but without that your CD TXT will not work.
