001 for XP - Problems and solutions
After upgrading to 5.3.1 and XP I found that Soundiver wouldn't work any more, it would just hang. I also found that after installing the WaveDriver my system would BSOD now and then. I found a replacement for Soundiver that works with both bass and guitar PODs at PatchWizard. It's only $30 and I actually like it better. However, with the WaveDriver installed it would die if I tried to run it and PT at the same time. Arg.
So, working system = No WaveDriver. PatchWizard for POD editing. A SoundBlaster PCI 16 (also $30) with it's output routed back into the Digi. Hey, now I can use PT like a real mixer and play along with mp3s and my PODs! Just passing this along to maybe save someone a week of card swapping, Digi cursing, OS installing, no-music-making frustration.
