There you go again with inflammatory language.

The upgrades to 10 and 11 have more than earnt the upgrade costs.

And we won't be seeing a feature upgrade until mid next year realistically.

So for the moment, the price remains the same. Agreed that if Avid don't keep up with new features it is more expensive. However, once you've got next year's features, if they satisfy your workflow, you don't have to stay on the plan.

It is however to describe them as "rape".

It was nothing of the sort and I'd kindly request you not to use such an analogy again.

4 months after I bought a hd|native card they made the upgrade to 10hd $1000. Thats a rape in my book.

Then you obviously have no perception of the meaning of the word. To use this term in this context is deeply insulting to anyone who has ever been affected by this terrible crime.

Now Tony is not "some guy" at AVID -
On this forum his signiture reads

Why on earth would we not take his statements as pretty much AVID speaking?
I'm sure this will be forgotten again in about 20 minutes.

Yeah signal to noise ratio on this thread has really taken a nose dive -

And another vote here to cease using that word - I too am offended. Call it overpriced or unreasonable instead.

PT11HD to PT12HD = $599

Fair?? Reasonable??
I'm one of the users that went from 9 to 10, then from 10 to 11. I'm spending $1200 more than someone who has waited since 9.

This is a complete kick in the balls and I want someone from Avid to realize how bitter this makes people like me, who were early PT11 adopters, feel. It's because of users like me that they had feedback in order to even make PT10 and PT11 what they were. Now we are being penalized. It's so bogus.
